VALENTÍ PUIG (Palma de Mallorca, 1949) graduated from Barcelona University with a degree in English and French Literature. He has been a full time writer since the seventies, writing both in Spanish and Catalan. He is the author of about thirty books: novels, essays, poemes (vid. libros) in a wide literary and intellectual spectrum. As a writer he has been awarded with prizes as Ramon Lull, Josep Pla, the Critics’ prize, Sant Joan and others.
His journalism includes political analysis, international commentary –specially on European affairs- and bookreviewing. He has written for “El País”, “La Vanguardia”, "Diario16”, "Gaceta de los Negocios", "Avuí", "El temps" (vid. Otros Artículos), ABC and again La Vanguardia . For ABC he was editorialist, London correspondent, Catalonia managing editor anb member of the editorial board. He was a daily analyst for COPE radio network. he writes a column on politics and culture in “La Vanguardia (vid. Artículos de La Vanguardia). He has also written for “Revista de Occidente”, “Revista de Libros”, “Nueva Revista”, “Letras Libres”, “Cuenta y Razón”, “Política Exterior”, “Cuadernos de pensamiento político”. He published in “The Wall Street Journal” and “The National Interest”. He has participated in many television and radio panels.
He lives in Barcelona with his wife, photographer Montserrat Garriga.
